Driver Qualification File

A Driver Qualification File is a certified file required by the Department of Transportation for all drivers employed by companies with a USDOT number. Companies must keep this file on hand, either physically or digitally, to present it during safety audits.

MC Authority – MC#

If you plan on transporting freight FOR-HIRE across state lines, you’ll need to obtain your Motor Carrier Interstate operating authority (MC#). When operating, it’s mandatory to display both your USDOT number and MC number on the side of your vehicle.

BOC-3

To activate your MC number, you are required to file a BOC-3 form with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The BOC-3 form contains a list of agents who will receive legal or official documents on your behalf and forward them to you.
